Cincinnati neighborhood games torch bicycle relay
July 20-21, 2018

Picture
Partnering with Red Bike, we will ride a torch (torch will be fake, biking around a real torch sounds cool at first...) through every Cincinnati Neighborhood. The relay will begin in Sayler Park on Friday, July 20 at 1 pm and will end that day after riding 30 miles and checking into 17 neighborhoods around 7 pm in College Hill. We will start up again on Saturday, July 21 at 7 am in College Hill and will cover 54 more miles and 35 more neighborhoods before ending in OTR at the Cincinnati Neighborhood Games Opening Ceremonies at Washington Park at 7 pm to light the Flame (a fake flame, but probably still cool). Please see the bottom of this page for relay checkpoint details.

Every neighborhood will have a check point where riders switch off. We hope to have a crowd at each neighborhood check point to cheer on their neighbor as they ride the torch off to the next neighborhood. Therefore, we are looking for 52 riders to take on the honor of carrying the flame. We will notify riders on July 8th of their assigned check point.

Regarding safety: Red Bike will have a buffer van and there will be a lead truck as well.  Riders will be required to bring their own helmet. A Cincinnati Red Bike will be provided, so no need to bring your own. Bike riders are asked to have a friend pick them up where they are scheduled to finish.
Registration has closed but please come out to your neighborhood's checkpoint and cheer on and or ride with your torch carrier!
