2016 & 2018 & 2019 EVENT: Golf - Chipping Contest
To win at this event you need to chip closest to the target as humanly possible.
Rules: Singles Event.
a) A target is established. This will be the pin/hole.
b) A hitting spot is placed a distance determined onsite away from the target (not more than 40 yards).
c) The participants line up single file behind the hitting spot.
d) Each participant hits three (3) balls, one at a time. Each person should mark their balls. 5,6,7,8, 9 iron or pitching wedge can be used. (therefore putter/drivers are not allowed).
e) After everyone in the line takes their turn, the person who hits the ball closest to the pin will be determined the winner.
f) If two or more balls are the same distance from the pin, those people shall repeat the process until only one person is left.
To lose
1) Chip further from the pin than the other competitors.
To Win
1) Make the most accurate chip to be the last one standing!
Singles Age Groups: 2 - Youth (age 7-13) and Adults (14 and older)
Qualifying Singles per Neighborhood: 2 - First Place per Age Group will qualify (gender neutral event)
Maximum Qualifying Participants Per Neighborhood: 2 - (1 youth and 1 adult)
